Western Union Scholarship For Undergraduates

The Western Union Foundation Global Scholarship Program, also referred to as WU Scholars, is a program designed to support young people and their efforts to pursue a post-secondary education.

The Institute of International Education, Inc. (IIE), a US non-profit, administers the program on behalf of the Western Union Foundation and its contributors.

The WU Scholars program was created to help give young people a boost toward a better life. The Western Union Foundation believes education is the surest path to economic opportunity. Educational pursuits to gain knowledge and skills for in-demand, 21st-century careers are helping people all over the world climb the economic ladder.

Eligibility

  • Scholarships must be used at an accredited post-secondary institution seeking an undergraduate degree.
  • All applicants must be pursuing a degree/field of study in one of the following categories: science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and business/entrepreneurship.
  • All applicants for scholarships must be between the ages of 18 – 26 years of age on June 1, 2018.

Timeline

  • Application Period Opens: Thursday, March 8, 2018
  • Application Period Closes: Monday, April 30, 2018 at 11:59pm EST
  • Selection and Notification to All Applicants: July 2018

Apply for the A.G.Leventis Foundation MBA Scholarship program in Greece

Deadline: 31st Mar. 2018

The A.G. Leventis Foundation MBA Scholarship Program for Nigerian citizens, offers two scholarships covering full tuition, accommodation and living expenses for two qualified students from Nigeria to attend The ALBA MBA program in Athens, Greece for the academic year 2018-2019.

• 1st or Upper 2nd Class Bachelors degree completed (GPA 3.8 or higher)
• Excellent command of English

Apply for a full scholarship to study RNTC Media courses in Netherland,2018

Deadline: 15 March 2018

 The Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs provides OKP (formerly known as NFP) and MSP scholarships for the RNTC courses for media and communications professionals from a variety of partner countries. The scholarships include a contribution towards the cost of living, the course fees, visa, travel, and insurance. If applicable, the scholarship holder is expected to cover the difference between actual costs and the OKP or MSP scholarship amount.

 The scholarships are administered by Nuffic, the Netherlands Organisation for International Cooperation in Higher Education. OKP stands for ‘Orange Knowledge Programme’ and these scholarships are available for 51 countries. MSP stands for ‘MENA (the Middle East and North Africa) Scholarship Programme’ and is available for 10* countries.  Please check whether you meet the criteria to apply for an OKP or MSP scholarship.

Eligibility

Apart from the RNTC course admission requirements, you need to meet the following requirements to be eligible for an OKP (formerly known as NFP) scholarship:

  • You are national and live and work in one of the countries in the Nuffic OKP list, which you can find here;
  • You must not be employed by an organisation that has its own means of staff-development. Organisations that are considered to have their own means for staff development are for example: multinational corporations (e.g. Shell, Unilever, Microsoft), large national and/or a large commercial organisations, bilateral donor organisations (e.g. USAID, DFID, Danida, Sida, Dutch ministry of Foreign affairs, FinAid, AusAid, ADC, SwissAid), multilateral donor organisations, (e.g. a UN organisation, the World Bank, the IMF, Asian Development Bank, African Development Bank, IADB), international NGOs (e.g. Oxfam, Plan, Care);
  • You have an Employer’s Statement that complies with the format Nuffic has provided. All information must be provided and all commitments that are included in the format must be endorsed in the statement;
  • You have an official and valid passport;
  • You do not receive more than one fellowship for courses that take place at the same time;
  • You have a Government Statement (only if applicable, please check this overview) that meets the requirements of the country in which the employer is established.

N.B. The OKP program has no age limit.

MSP scholarship

Apart from the RNTC course admission requirements, you need to meet the following requirements to be eligible for an MSP scholarship:

  • You are a national of and live and work in one of the following Middle East and North African (MENA) countries: Algeria, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Syria*, Tunisia;
  • The MSP is ONLY open to applicants of Syrian nationality who are residing and working outside of Syria in one of the other selected MENA countries.
  • You are not over 45 years of age at the time of the scholarship application deadline

University of Nottingham Achiever Foundation Prize for Africa (Engineering and Physical Sciences)

The University of Nottingham is consistently ranked among the world’s top 100 universities* and is ranked 8th in the UK for research power**.

In 2018, the university is offering 5 scholarships of £2,000 each towards tuition fees to students from Africa***, registering on its Engineering and Physical Sciences Foundation Certificate.

Eligibility

You can apply for this high achiever prize if you:

  • are a national of (or permanently domiciled in) an African country*** AND
  • are classed as an overseas student for fee purposes AND
  • already hold an offer to start on the Engineering and Physical Sciences Foundation Certificate at Nottingham in September 2018. You must have gone firm on that offer by 29 June 2018
  • Candidates will be notified of the outcome of their application within six weeks of the closing date
  • Students will only be eligible to receive this high achiever prize if they meet the conditions of their academic offer
  • The high achiever prize is for the first year only

***Three of these scholarships will be reserved for students from Kenya or Nigeria
