Western Union Scholarship For Undergraduates

The Western Union Foundation Global Scholarship Program, also referred to as WU Scholars, is a program designed to support young people and their efforts to pursue a post-secondary education.

The Institute of International Education, Inc. (IIE), a US non-profit, administers the program on behalf of the Western Union Foundation and its contributors.

The WU Scholars program was created to help give young people a boost toward a better life. The Western Union Foundation believes education is the surest path to economic opportunity. Educational pursuits to gain knowledge and skills for in-demand, 21st-century careers are helping people all over the world climb the economic ladder.

Eligibility

  • Scholarships must be used at an accredited post-secondary institution seeking an undergraduate degree.
  • All applicants must be pursuing a degree/field of study in one of the following categories: science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and business/entrepreneurship.
  • All applicants for scholarships must be between the ages of 18 – 26 years of age on June 1, 2018.

CTA Social Media Internship Opportunity For Fresh Graduate In Netherland

The Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation (CTA) is a joint international institution of the African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) Group of States and the European Union (EU). Its mission is to advance food security, resilience and inclusive economic growth in Africa, the Caribbean and the Pacific through innovations in sustainable agriculture. CTA operates under the framework of the Cotonou Agreement and is funded by the EU.

Responsibilities

Under the guidance and supervision of the Marketing & Communication Programme Coordinator, you will be responsible for the following activities:

  • Assist in updating and implementing CTA’s social media strategy;
  • Assist in social media content planning and be responsible for keeping it updated, in line with the overall online content planning;
  • Research influencers, brands and networking opportunities that are strategic for CTA communication objectives;
  • Moderate and engage with comments posted on social media keeping in line with CTA’s corporate tone and messages;
  • Engage with all incoming messages on all platforms;
  • Update CTA’s corporate social media accounts (currently Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram in English and French) and visuals;
  • Update YouTube and Vimeo; edit videos and add subtitles;
  • Support CTA staff and interns in using social media tools in relation to their activities; propose easy-to-use supporting material;
  • Keep track on performance on social media and produce monthly reports;
  • Contribute content for blogs, CTA event websites and e-newsletters when required;
  • Support the team in quality control of the event calendar.

Eligibility:

  • National of one of the ACP or EU States signatory to the Cotonou Agreement (79 African, Caribbean and Pacific States and the European Union Member States).
  • University (or similar institution of higher education) degree in digital communication, marketing or related discipline.Recent graduate, between 21 and 29 years old (maximum).
  • Experience in social media.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure with focus and to meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent working knowledge of English (both written and oral). Knowledge of French would be an asset.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours if needed to cover key events in other time zones (e.g. Pacific Islands or Caribbean).
  • Interest in and knowledge of international development is also an asset.

Offer

  • Participation in CTA activities will give you an invaluable experience at international level.
  • Internship stipend (€ 800 per month for holder of a Bachelor’s degree, € 1,000 per month for holder of a Master’s degree).
  • Payment of travel costs when joining and leaving the Centre.
  • Medical coverage for emergency cases of sickness and accident, for the duration of the internship.

CERN Non-Member State Postdoc Fellowship Programme (Theoretical Physics) for Autumn 2018

Eligibility: 

  • You should NOT be a national of a CERN Member State. Nationals from the CERN Member States (irrespective of their current place of study and/or residence) should apply to the ‘standard’ Fellowship Programme(link is external).
  • You have a PhD in Theoretical Physics (or are about to finish your thesis) and are looking for a postdoctoral position.
  • You have a maximum of 10 years of research experience after the degree which gives access to doctoral programmes (MSc or equivalent).

  • a list of publications if relevant (for collaborations, please indicate simply the number of publications and only provide details of the most important ones)

Apply for a full scholarship to study RNTC Media courses in Netherland,2018

Deadline: 15 March 2018

 The Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs provides OKP (formerly known as NFP) and MSP scholarships for the RNTC courses for media and communications professionals from a variety of partner countries. The scholarships include a contribution towards the cost of living, the course fees, visa, travel, and insurance. If applicable, the scholarship holder is expected to cover the difference between actual costs and the OKP or MSP scholarship amount.

 The scholarships are administered by Nuffic, the Netherlands Organisation for International Cooperation in Higher Education. OKP stands for ‘Orange Knowledge Programme’ and these scholarships are available for 51 countries. MSP stands for ‘MENA (the Middle East and North Africa) Scholarship Programme’ and is available for 10* countries.  Please check whether you meet the criteria to apply for an OKP or MSP scholarship.

Eligibility

Apart from the RNTC course admission requirements, you need to meet the following requirements to be eligible for an OKP (formerly known as NFP) scholarship:

  • You are national and live and work in one of the countries in the Nuffic OKP list, which you can find here;
  • You must not be employed by an organisation that has its own means of staff-development. Organisations that are considered to have their own means for staff development are for example: multinational corporations (e.g. Shell, Unilever, Microsoft), large national and/or a large commercial organisations, bilateral donor organisations (e.g. USAID, DFID, Danida, Sida, Dutch ministry of Foreign affairs, FinAid, AusAid, ADC, SwissAid), multilateral donor organisations, (e.g. a UN organisation, the World Bank, the IMF, Asian Development Bank, African Development Bank, IADB), international NGOs (e.g. Oxfam, Plan, Care);
  • You have an Employer’s Statement that complies with the format Nuffic has provided. All information must be provided and all commitments that are included in the format must be endorsed in the statement;
  • You have an official and valid passport;
  • You do not receive more than one fellowship for courses that take place at the same time;
  • You have a Government Statement (only if applicable, please check this overview) that meets the requirements of the country in which the employer is established.

N.B. The OKP program has no age limit.

MSP scholarship

Apart from the RNTC course admission requirements, you need to meet the following requirements to be eligible for an MSP scholarship:

  • You are a national of and live and work in one of the following Middle East and North African (MENA) countries: Algeria, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Syria*, Tunisia;
  • The MSP is ONLY open to applicants of Syrian nationality who are residing and working outside of Syria in one of the other selected MENA countries.
  • You are not over 45 years of age at the time of the scholarship application deadline

Blacks at Microsoft Scholarships,2018

Blacks at Microsoft (BAM) is a company-sponsored employee network dedicated to supporting the continued growth and development of black employees at Microsoft Corporation. This year, BAM will award two US$5,000 scholarships to outstanding high-school seniors who are interested in pursuing careers in technology. The scholarships are renewable, so winners who continue to meet the criteria can receive an annual $5,000 award for up to four years.

Requirements

To be considered for a BAM Scholarship, you must:

  • Be a high-school senior of African descent (for example, African American, African, or Ethiopian).
  • Plan to attend a four-year college or university in the fall of the year following high-school graduation.
  • Plan to pursue a bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, computer information systems, or select business programs (such as finance, business administration, or marketing).
  • Demonstrate a passion for technology.
  • Demonstrate leadership at school or in the community.
  • Have a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher.
  • Require financial assistance to attend college.

How to Apply

To apply for a BAM Scholarship, print and fill out the application. Enclose it in an envelope with the following items:

  • Two letters of recommendation. At least one letter must be from a faculty or staff member at your school. Letters of recommendation should be original and should not be duplicates of college recommendation letters. (Letters must be on letterhead.)
  • Résumé. Your résumé should include the following information:
  • —Extracurricular activities (school and community related)
  • —Honors and awards that you have received (if possible, include awards that are technology related)
  • —Work experience
  • Picture of yourself.
  • Transcript. Include an official “sealed” copy of your current academic transcript. (Unofficial copies will not be accepted.)
  • Two essays.
  • 1. In no more than 500 words, describe how you plan to engage in the technology industry in your future career. (If you have done exemplary work using technology during high school, please describe that also.)
  • 2. In no more than 250 words, demonstrate your financial need for this scholarship.

Stipendium Hungaricum Call for Application 2018-2019

We are pleased to announce that the new Stipendium Hungaricum Call for Applications for studies starting from the Academic Year 2018-2019 is now available and the application system is open!

Since the last round of applications, the number of Sending Partners has increased, therefore more and more students have the chance to apply for the scholarship to study in Hungary. At the time of writing, 60 Sending Partners are engaged in the programme throughout 5 different continents. With the number of Stipendium Hungaricum applicants, the number of available scholarship places is also increasing. In the academic year 2018/2019 approximately 5000 students can begin their studies in Hungary in the framework of the Stipendium Hungaricum Programme.

Similarly to the previous Calls for Applications, the Stipendium Hungaricum scholarships are available for bachelor, master, one-tier master, doctoral (and in some cases, preparatory and specialisation non-degree) programmes. Both full degree and exchange study modes are available, depending on the specific Sending Partner.
